About Me
I've lived, studied, and worked in Oberlin since 1998 after moving from New York state. I love what Oberlin has to offer – enough so that I bought a house up on Union Street (which I'm slowly rehabbing) where I run my own web design business. I read, enjoy getting downtown with friends, rarely pass up a chance to see a comedy show, and help to coach rookie fencers and established improvisers on campus.
I'm a graduate of Oberlin College (OC '02) with majors in Politics and Theater. My career since college has been primarily in fundraising and communications. I've written plenty, designed materials, researched and negotiated with suppliers, and planned and executed full campaigns with volunteers and staff. Today I help non-profits and small businesses reach their audiences without breaking the bank.
I'm currently a member of Oberlin's Open Space and Visual Environment Commission where we look at anything concerning the city's parks and open spaces, offer advice to council on land use, and run the annual Arbor Day celebration. I'm also on the Design Review Subcommittee which reviews signage and other aesthetic matters before they go to Planning Commission. And I'm a founding company member of the Oberlin Summer Theater Festival, acting and teching shows, as well as working on publicity, fundraising and more in the off-season.
There's the nutshell. You can learn a bit more about how I want to approach things on Council or get in touch with any questions. Thanks for reading.
